Scottish swine flu victims

A HONEYMOONING couple were today named as the UK’s first victims of the swine flue epidemic.

Iain and Dawn Askham, from Polmont near Falkirk, are believed to have contracted the illness during a holiday in the Cancun region of Mexico.

Swine flu cases report

A total of 103 people have died from suspected swine flu, with 22 of the cases confirmed as being linked to the new virus. The number of people suspected of having the virus has risen to 1,614. The deaths have hit the capital, Mexico City, and 17 states, including Mexico State, Veracruz, Oaxaca, Baja California and San Luis Potosí. Oaxaca, Mexico City and Baja California, are tourist destinations.

Swine Flu in California

fluTwo mysterious cases of swine flu have been found in Imperial and San Diego counties, leading to an investigation by local, state and federal health officials to find the source.

A 9-year-old girl in Imperial County and a 10-year-old boy in San Diego County were identified as having had the virus, officials said Tuesday.
