Large Hadron Collider (PICS)
The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is a gigantic scientific instrument near Geneva, where it spans the border between Switzerland and France about 100 m underground. It is a particle accelerator used by physicists to study the smallest known particles – the fundamental building blocks of all things. It will revolutionise our understanding, from the minuscule world deep within atoms to the vastness of the Universe.

I read somewhere that the large hadron collider relies on dividing by zero to function. How is this possible? Wouldn’t it create a black hole singularity? What other risks does it pose and what are their chances of coming to fruition?
I tried to search on the internet like Wikipedia and Google but the terms they speak in are to scientific and hard to understand. So in simple terms, explain what is going on tiwh the Large Hadron Collider and what they are trying to do with it.
how would you explain how we built the large hadron collider to a caveman? Now how would you explain how you created the world to a recently out of the cave man? you would use simple words and metaphores, you wouldnt go into particle physics with him trying to explain the atom right?
Out of the space race we got advances in medicine, calculators, computer , etc. What do you expect to come after the Large Hadron Collider?
I really want to be a tattoo artist! I know that you have to apprentice and it takes a while but I am willing to do everything needed to become a great tattoo artist. I’m planning on going to the Academy of Art University in SF, but I’m stuck between whether I should take Computer Arts: New Media or Graphic Design. Could someone please tell me the difference? Also, if I do take Computer Arts:New Media, what type of career opportunities are there? I know obviously if I take Graphic Design, I become a Graphic Designer, am I right? Please help!
Some people have been training martial art for years but they seem to look fat. Some people look so muscular due to martial art training.
Some martial art practitioners have been training a lot and they become fast and energetic but their bodies seem to be average with no muscles at all.
Can I get a Bachelor in Art like in regular ? I want to become an Interior Designer and I wanted a degree but also want to learn more design. So is college then art school necessary or will art school have the things I will learn academic wise I will learn in college. A bachelor is mandatory and also art school. So both or what?
I like Taekwondo, and when I get into a real fight, I like to make my opponent keep his/her distance. That’s the way I like to fight in real life, and that’s the martial art that I choose based upon my fighting personality. What about you and your martial art and the way you like to fight opponents?
@Red River, you should never feel bad about what you love. A true friend would accept you for your love of you no matter what it is.
Hopefully everyone or someone will understand this, but I am an artist, and I am trying/learning slowly how to sell my art online. Anyway, I’ve noticed that some people, and places/pages online like ebay that sell your art have cool really professional looking backgrounds that seem digital, that the art work appears in front of. How do I get this?
I want to enter a drawing into a juried art show. I did the drawing a number of years ago and I drew the copyright sign on the drawing, added the year in which I drew the piece and I signed my name. Do art shows accept those pieces with this information on the drawing or will it get rejected for a juried art show.
I am majoring studio art with emphasis on painting and I need to take quite a bit of art history classes, which I don’t mind. I want to be well rounded in art history.
What are movements or art styles do you recommend or
which ones should every artist at least be familiar with?
Ok, this is my last question regarding renaissance art.
How much did art evolve DURING the renaissance period?
For instance, was art work from the beginning of the renaissance any different to that of the end of the renaissance.
Links please.
