50 Killed in Iraq Suicide Blasts
In Baghdad, police say at least 28 people were killed Thursday’s in a blast that targeted a security patrol near Baghdad’s Tahariyat Square.
Shortly after the blast, police near Baquba, north of the capital, reported that another suicide bomber killed at least 25 people.
After months of declining violence, suicide bombers have struck repeatedly in the past several weeks.
On Wednesday, Iraqi police said a suicide bomber killed at least five people in a Sunni mosque north of the Iraqi capital.
Also Wednesday, the U.S. military said an American soldier was killed while on patrol in eastern Baghdad.
